Help us build our end of year degree show
Hi! We're the Brighton Interior Architecture and Architecture Society (B.I.A.A.S.). We are looking to raise £3000, to build, create and accommodate our end of year degree show that will take place in June. This is the perfect opportunity for you, the public and those interested to see the great works made by our skilled students in the School of Architecture and Design, showcasing our talents, work and creativity.
B.I.A.A.S. is a society that aims to enhance and broaden the student experience . Students of the School of Architecture and Design are all considered members, encouraging and working together, sharing knowledge and experiences, pitching in to help with various projects and events.
For the final years, our three years of studies are coming to an end. In celebration of reaching this milestone, our end of year degree show is our way to show what we have learned and the skills we have developed and refined!
This project will represent the School of Architecture and Design, as such students from BSc (Hons) Product Design, BA (Hons) interior Architecture, BA (Hons) Architecture, Masters of Architecture and MA Interior Design will be presenting their work.
The degree show focuses on the multitude of works produced by our final year graduating students, including those created by other years who will also have the opportunity to display their amazing work. Our goal is to show the quality and variety of our work, showing the roles and positive impact of architectural education in today's modern society. This provides us with a tremendous opportunity to not only showcase our talent but to ultimately help with securing jobs and recognition within the architectural profession.
The School of Architecture and Design previously hosted the 2018 End of Year degree show on Hastings Pier, a successful event which brought students and staff to work together on building huts as space for displaying work. Reinvigorating and reviving public interest in the celebrated Stirling Prize-winning pier. We are waiting for confirmation of this years venue.
Why is this important to us?
This project is something very near and dear to us. It's an incredible opportunity for students of every year to come together and showcase work as well as a chance to take part in an event to collaborate and gain experience in organising, setting up and building a shared project. This show is a celebration of the years of hard work and the time we've invested into our degree. Not only does the End of Year degree show aid us, the students, in our learning, it also allows us to make important connections with those outside the profession, to share in their knowledge, views and opinions of the future of the field of architecture. This project is also a major step into the architectural profession, enabling final year students to secure a job or gain attention for their work.
Why you should support?
By contributing, you become an important and valued patron. Supporting students in our endeavour to achieve our goals, and celebrating the perseverance and the hard work we've put into producing designs.
Where will the money go?
If the minimum amount of funds are made, we would be able to set up the degree show and start building stands and other installation that may be necessary.
Venue Hire: £1,500 (approx) - 2 week hire
Travel Costs: £200 (approx)
Display structures: £700 (approx)
Production costs: £400 (approx)
Printing costs: £200 (approx)
If we make more than our target goal, we would be able to improve the design and display elements. We will be posting about the project on our social media in the build up to the End of Year degree show to keep you up to date on our progress.
