We are 5 final year students at The University of Brighton, crowdfunding to put on our final year film! After studying for 3 years this will be our ending piece at university which will help us promote our work and fuel our future careers as filmmakers.
You can see our director Julia's latest project BABUSHKA below. 'Doing this film made me realise how much i love and enjoy writing and directing drama. If only we had had a bigger budget working on this, much more could have been done!' - Julia.
JULIA (Writer / Director/ Producer)
Julia is an aspiring writer and director with a passion for emotionally grabbing stories. Her previous short comedy drama BABUSHKA was selected for the Cine City Film Festival Brighton and won 'Best Screenplay', 'Best Production' and 'Best Sound' at the UoB Digital Media Festival.
ALEX (Producer / 1st Assistant Director)
Alex's interests lie within producing, film festivals and exhibition. Through her engagement she wants to help bring a wider range of voices to the screen.
CHARLIE (Director of Photography)
Charlie primarily works as a Cinematographer for Music and Fashion projects e.g. alongside prestigious director Alec Maxwell (British Vogue). His two recent short films will soon be making their way to the festival circuit. For his future, Charlie aspires to work in drama with directors such as Barry Jenkins and Greta Gerwig.
TOM (Sound Recordist / Sound Design)
Tom currently passionately practices Location Recording and Sound Design at university. His ambition is to specialise in Sound Recording.
Editing always stood out to Charles as being the most exciting and powerful stage of the filmmaking process. He has edited multiple music videos, charity films, live videos and more recently short films and documentaries.
Heaven's Sound- The sound of church bells ringing takes her somewhere else – attempting to finalise her collection of recordings, Helena desperately tries to preserve the past. A story of pain, escapism and mastering the task of letting go.
